Brighton and Man City players are in huge demand

With FPL 2023-24 gameweek 3 coming up, we discuss the five best transfer targets for the upcoming Premier League fixture. The goal is to provide managers with information to help them create a watchlist for the upcoming game week. All picks are analysed with stats, fixtures, and current form. The players that managers have ignored or overlooked are making waves and bagging huge points. This list comprises such hidden gems that you need to have as differential players, which will be the reason to give you those extra points to outscore other competitors in the Fantasy Premier League.

5. Leon Bailey: Aston Villa – £5.5

With Aston Villa getting better off the underperforming Everton, Leon Bailey was one of the shining names on the scorecard. He played only 62 minutes but was able to score a goal and provide an assist as well. He got 14 points in total, which was a complete steal for 1.5% of the managers who owned him.

The reason for being a player to watch is also Aston Villa’s upcoming four fixtures, where the only top-table club they face is Liverpool. He is one of the players to watch this season for Villa, along with Pau Torres, Konsa, and Watkins. Unai Emry is surely a manager who has proven his style of coaching at Arsenal and Villareal, so it won’t be a surprise to see Villa cause some absolute upsets.

4. Ruben Dias: Manchester City – £5.5

Ruben Dias has been solid at the back for Manchester City

With back-to-back clean sheets, Manchester City reminded us who the best defence in the league is. Manchester City now embarks on a run of good fixtures, which sees them have the 2nd easiest fixtures for defenders over the next 5 GWs, making their defensive assets great picks if you can nail the one who is more likely to play.

Pep’s favourite centre-back, Stones, is also ruled out for the next few game weeks due to a muscular injury. For now, Dias still remains their best defensive option for expected minutes, as he should continue to start most games. Man City has also shown just how good they are defensively by starting the season with only a 0.62 xGC. Also, in the two games, Manchester City hasn’t conceded a single big chance! While his 0.07 xGI per 90 minutes last season was poor, Dias does make up for it with his high likelihood of clean sheets. I know Man City options can be frustrating to own, but with this type of fixture, they are worth the risk.

3. Kaoru Mitoma: Brighton – £6.5

The midfielder has been sensational since his introduction in England and has only seen a gradual rise in his game and fans. He not only dribbles and breaks the ankles of the opposition, but this season he already has three goal contributions in two matches, and he is now the prime midfielder after Caicedo got his big-money move to Chelsea. He has already been one of the most popular players to have in midfield, with 43.2% of managers selecting him.

His next five fixtures are against teams like West Ham, Villa, Newcastle, and United, but Brighton are hosting three of these matches at home. One thing we know about Brighton at home is that they are as unpredictable as they are dangerous. He will only shine more against such opponents and could make a real difference.

2. Yoane Wissa: Brentford – £6.1

Here is another hidden gem for you that you can put your trust in for a few game weeks. Another spectacularly playing team, Brentford, has racked up three goals and contributions for 20 points in total against Fulham and Tottenham. Their next five fixtures comprise four teams with a fixture difficulty rating of 2. Only Newcastle are the most highly-rated opponent among these fixtures, and Brentford are looking like a team with players with the most potential at a very reasonable rate. Flekken is available at just 4.5, and Mbeumo is also racking up 23 points after the conclusion of GW2.

1. Solly March: Brighton – £6.6

Okay, so you might be surprised by our top pick, but when we tell you he has scored more goals than Haaland, it might start making sense. Available for almost half the price of the Danish Machine or Egyptian King, he has rediscovered his old form. Like his teammate, March has looked like an air of fresh air when they are on the attack. As mentioned earlier, Brighton is playing the next three games at home, and one thing that you can guarantee is the goals. With his price and fixtures coming, it will be interesting to see how he returns the faith of a growing number of managers, which is 9.0% currently as compared to 1.2% managers in GW2.
