Newcastle United reach agreement to sign Tino Livramento for £35m

The Magpies have now completed their fourth summer signing
Newcastle United have finally secured an agreement with Southampton to sign the youngster Tino Livramento.
It is believed a deal has been made for The Magpies to recruit the 20-year-old right-back after rumours that Livramento was left out of the Southampton team for the season’s opening game over Sheffield Wednesday on Friday evening.
Sky Sports has subsequently asserted that a deal has been completed between both clubs, after The Gazette’s revelations that Newcastle was nearing a move to sign Livramento.
The player is currently scheduled to undergo a medical in Tyneside for a fee that is believed to be close to the £35 million mark, extensions included.

The better part of the summer transfer season has been spent in deliberations between Newcastle and the England Under-21 international, with Chelsea’s sizeable sell-on option for the player believed to be a roadblock.
A 40% portion of the revenue Southampton makes from the sale of Livramento will go to the Blues. The Saints have therefore been waiting for a “win-win” deal to be presented.
In Southampton’s disastrous 2022–23 Premier League season, which resulted in their relegation to the Championship, Livramento appeared just twice. The young man missed more than a year of competitive play after suffering an ACL injury in April 2022.
He now appears poised to serve as Newcastle’s fourth summer addition, joining Yankuba Minteh, Sandro Tonali, and Harvey Barnes.
Romeo Lavia and James Ward-Prowse have also been rejected by Southampton, who do not want to be dumped by Premier League teams.
Russell Martin, the new manager, has repeatedly emphasised that he is not in a position to let go of his top players before the summer transfer market closes.
