Barcelona are closing in on a move for SC Freiburg’s youngster
Noah Darvich is a product of the SC Freiburg Academy, a very good youth system that has produced many interesting players in recent years. Noah is a very important member of the Germany U-17 team. The 16-year-old is a versatile attacking midfielder who can play in a variety of positions.
Darvich was touted as one of the best players in the Under-17 European Championship last June in Hungary. Barcelona have reportedly agreed to sign German wonderkid Noah Darvich from SC Freiburg for a reported fee of €3 million. He is expected to move to Barca Atletic in principle for the first year as he joins the Rafa Marquez-led team while looking to make an impression on first-team coach Xavi Hernandez.
Past Experience
Noah Darvich went through the SC Freiburg youth academy. By the 2022–23 season, he had become a regular goal and assist provider for the under-17 Freiburg team, making the step to the under-19 while appearing as one of the most sought-after German players of his generation, despite being only 16.
In May 2023, he was selected by Christian Wück for the European Championship as Germany’s under-17 captain. He is of Iraqi descent, and Darvich is also eligible for the Iraq national team.
Noah Darvich’s Stats
He made twenty-three appearances for U-17 Bundesliga South/Southwest, where he scored nine goals and provided five assists. Last season in the U-17 Bundesliga, he only played eight matches in which he scored five goals. Noah Darvich also played sixteen matches for the U-17 German National Team, where he scored five goals. In the 21–22 U-17 Bundesliga season, he played fifteen matches and had four goals to his name.

Playing style
Noah Darvich is an advanced playmaker. He is able to play on the wing as well as in the mix of wide playmaker and winger. A very creative player with excellent technique on the ball, mobility, acceleration skills, fast direction shifts, short-dribbling, and good short-mid-through passing ability.
Superb combination of a dribbler and creator who likes to speed up the game with his dribbling and passing skills and is very capable of pushing his team forward to finishing positions.
He likes to play in a free attacking role, where he is granted the freedom to roam the pitch and find space. An extremely skilled and intelligent player, who likes to have the ball at his feet, where he is able to make a difference at any time with his dribbling skills and ability to play the final ball. Very elegant on the ball with a silky touch. Displays a natural technique to take fast decisions in tight spaces or under pressure.

Noah Darvich is very similar to Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva and Spanish International Sergio Canales. Darvich is a creative and technically gifted player with good speed, dribbling, and passing abilities. Primarily an attacking midfielder, he is also able to play in a deeper role or further forward on the wing, just like Silva and Canales.
