PSG offered Neymar on loan to Barcelona in Dembele transfer negotiations

Xavi rejected the offer as he doesn’t want Brazilian at the club
As reported by SPORT, Paris Saint-Germain attempted to loan out former FC Barcelona star Neymar to their club as a result of negotiations surrounding Ousmane Dembele’s impending transfer to the Qatari-owned club.
On Thursday, Dembele is anticipated to inform Barcelona that he wants to join PSG in the ensuing hours.
The player’s release guarantee for $55 million, which was set to expire at midnight on July 31, will not prevent the Ligue 1 champions from paying Barca €50 million ($55 million).
Despite the fact that on August 1 the price needed to free Dembele from the contract he renewed the previous year until June 2024 quadrupled, PSG will only pay the initial €50 million, which means the player and the representative Moussa Sissoko will keep half.

This is due to a “private” clause being triggered by the Parisians’ letter informing Barca of their desire to purchase “The Mosquito” over the weekend, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The circumstances that brought Neymar and Dembele together began when PSG effectively activated the Brazilian player’s €222 million Barca transfer clause in 2017.
Then-president Josep Bartomeu purchased Dembele from Borussia Dortmund for a price of €105 million plus add-ons using some of the funds he had obtained from the Qataris.
On Barca’s just-finished preseason tour of the United States, Xavi Hernandez reportedly tried to persuade Dembele not to move sides by using Neymar’s predicament as a cautionary tale, but the Frenchman has decided to join the Ligue 1 club due to their sporting project and not money.
