Rasmus Hojlund to be sidelined for extended period as he recovers from back injury

The Red Devils signed the young striker from Atlanta
Following his £72 million signing from Atalanta, Rasmus Hojlund’s early injury has Manchester United concerned that it may be more serious than initially believed.
A timetable for Dane’s comeback is unknown, thus Erik ten Hag will begin the new season sans the newly acquired striker.
Before Saturday’s 3-1 preseason victory over RC Lens, United made Rasmus Hojlund’s debut in front of an enthusiastic Old Trafford crowd.

However, it soon became clear that the 20-year-old would miss some time due to a “minor issue” he had developed when playing for Atalanta a few weeks before.
There is now a worry that Hojlund’s first year in England will be negatively impacted by the steps that must be taken to prevent the injury from getting worse.
The Mail reports that Hojlund is recuperating from a back injury sustained by United during his physical test last week.
A tension reaction region in Hojlund’s back, which is believed to initiate potential stress fractures in young athletes, was discovered during an MRI that the Red Devils had sent him for in London.
And according to the sources, some club officials believe the 20-year-old’s condition is more severe than initially thought, which will worry ten Hag, who is in need of more attacking ammunition.
According to reports, United has emphasised that Hojlund has no underlying problems and only needs time to recover before regaining his fitness.
Rasmus Hojlund could make his debut against Arsenal on September 3.
