Where and how to watch EFL Championship 2023-24 in India
24 teams play for promotion in the English second division
The EFL Championship is set to start one week before the Premier League season. 24 teams will battle it out for promotion and only three teams will make it to the top division.
Teams play 46 matches each to gain promotion. Only the top two teams automatically qualify for the Premier League. The teams that finish third, fourth, fifth and sixth compete in a play-off and only one team gains promotion.
The EFL Championship is one of the toughest leagues in the world. Vincent Kompany led Burnley to a league title and promotion to the Premier League. Sheffield United and Luton Town joined them.
Southampton, Leicester City and Leeds United are demoted to the second level and will look for promotion in the coming season.

Where to watch the EFL Championship in India?
The Premier League has an exclusive partnership with the Star Sports Network. Unfortunately, the EFL Championship has no partnership for live broadcasting in India. However, some selected matches will be available on FanCode throughout the season. Each game week features 12 matches and some of them will be streamed live on the app. There is a subscription pass to watch these matches.
Once again 24 teams in the second division will fight for promotion in a lengthy season. Sheffield Wednesday and Southampton will play the opener.
The three demoted sides will remain the favourites to gain promotion. Only consistent teams have a chance to get promoted in such a big league.
Manchester City and Leicester City have won seven titles each. Burnley won the 2022-23 season with 101 points.
With some selective matches available on FanCode, fans in India can experience the game style of some of the players in the second division. Often teams from the Premier League send their young players on loan for regular game time.
