Gameweek 6 made us observe a lot of intense dramas

The Gameweek 6 of Indian Super League (ISL) staged eight clashes between 12 teams making it the longest gameweek of the 2023-24 season so far. All the clubs were in action this week and a lot of action took place on the field.

We saw only draws being played while the other six games ended in the favour of the winning teams. It was a week full of entertainment and drama. It was the last week of action before the league is put to halt for a 16 day international break.

On that note, let us take a look at the talking points from the week gone by.

Odisha FC have shown what they are all about in the last one week or so. They have played three games across the ISL and the AFC Cup in less than 10 days and have managed to win all of them.

They began with a comeback win over Bengaluru FC were they were 0-2 down at home, but fought back and went on to win the game 3-2. In their second game, they broke NorthEast United FC’s unbeaten run and handed them a 1-0 defeat in Bhubaneswar.

Mohun Bagan Super Giant have now won all of their four games. The Mariners are the only side in the league to have won all of their games going into the international break. They won their opening game against Punjab FC before thrashing Chennaiyin FC and Bengaluru FC.

Juan Ferrando’s men staged an epic fightback in Jamshedpur as they came back from behind to defeat the Red Miners. They were 1-0 down before they went on to win the game 3-2 after 90 minutes.
