Odisha FC boss Sergio Lobera also spoke about the team selection for the upcoming game.
After a thrilling win against Bengaluru FC on Tuesday, Odisha FC are slated to host NorthEast United FC at their home ground, Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar on November 3.
Odisha FC are now placed at the seventh position in the points table with two wins and one draw from five games, while NEUFC are placed fourth with two wins and two draws.
Ahead of the match, Odisha FC’s head coach Sergio Lobera and winger Aniket Jadhav attended the pre-match press conference. Excerpts are below:
Preparation for the next game
Coach Sergio Lobera looked confident while stating about the team’s preparation even though they have continuous matches in a gap of 2-3 days. He said, “We are adequately equipped to tackle this challenge, particularly given the demanding timetable with a series of games lined up in rapid succession. We acknowledge the importance of adjusting to the circumstances and maintaining a solution-oriented approach instead of fixating on issues. Our team is fully prepared to confront these obstacles confidently.”
About the team
Odisha FC executed a robust counter-attacking strategy in their match against Bengaluru FC and successfully snatched the victory from their grasp. Sergio Lobera backed each and every player of the squad by stating, “We are strategically emphasizing both offensive and defensive tactics to ensure a well-rounded performance. Furthermore, we possess exceptional players in the likes of Narender (Gahlot) and Carlos (Delgado), who exhibited impressive skills in our previous match. Our selections for the upcoming game will be guided by the specific demands of the situation.”
“The paramount aspect for a role designer is the squad itself. It is not solely about individual talents. I believe that teams, whether strong or weak, define our strength. When confronted with formidable opponents, victory or defeat is experienced collectively, transcending individual capabilities,” he added.
Support of fans
In their last match against Bengaluru FC, a considerable number of fans showed up to support their team. The team certainly anticipates receiving the same level of support from them in the upcoming game as well. “Seeing over 7,000 fans at our most recent game was truly astounding. We express our sincere gratitude and look forward to the unwavering support of our fans in every match going forward”, expressed Aniket Jadhav.
