The Socceroos will look to kickstart their World Cup qualifying campaign against Bengal Tigers with a dominant win

Australia are one of the favourites from their group to advance and will look to start the qualifying campaign with a win against an opponent they have enjoyed playing against. They have faced them two times prior to this match and have resulted in huge victories for them. Graham Arnold will have to make sure that his team starts getting consistent results as can be seen from the past five matches where they have won just 1 and drawn 1 and lost the remaining three matches.

Bangladesh have been in good form lately after eliminating Maldives in the first round, winning the home tie by 2-1 in the second leg and drawing 1-1 away in the first leg. They will be facing a huge task against the Socceroos who have been a regular fixture in the World Cups. They will aim to at least get a point from this match so that they can be in the top two to qualify for the next rounds.

Kick-Off:

Location: AAMI Park, Melbourne

Form:

Australia(in all competitions) :W-L-D-L-L

Player to Watch

Harry Souttar (Australia)

The Leicester City man has been a reliable figure for the Socceroos at the back providing a solid defensive display as well as providing attacking threat from the set pieces. Harry Souttar has 7 goals to his name so far and will like to continue his goal scoring form to take the team forward. He has started the championship campaign for the Foxes brightly scoring two goals from the five matches he has played so far.

Rakib Hossain (Bangladesh)

Rakib Hossain will be the main man to take the Bengal Tigers moving forward in the qualifying campaign as he has been in terrific form lately. He has scored 3 goals in the last 5 matches for the Bengal Tigers. Goals against Maldives, Bhutan and Maldives has helped the Bengal Tigers to comfortable victories. He will be desperate to continue his goalscoring form to take the team forward.
