Harry Kane is quickly rising up the ranks in the list of goalscorers from England in the Bundesliga

Harry Kane’s life at FC Bayern Munich has started on an incredible note. The striker is scoring goals for fun. He already has 21 goals and seven assists for the club in 16 matches across all competitions. The Englishman is a favourite with the fans of the club that paid a record-breaking €95.00m fee for his services.

Harry Kane’s arrival in the German Bundesliga raised a lot of eyebrows after the striker finally chose to leave Tottenham Hotspur behind. While he excels at scoring goals, few would have predicted the scale of his instant impact at the club. He has 17 goals in 11 Bundesliga appearances and is quickly climbing the ranks of most prolific English goalscorers in the league.

On the note of Harry Kane’s incredible goalscoring feats in the Bundesliga, here is a look at the top 10 English players with the most goals in the German top division:

Jamie Bynoe-Gittens – 4

Borussia Dortmund are making a habit of discovering young English talents and turning them into superstars. Jamie Bynoe-Gittens is their latest young English prospect who has already bagged three goals in the German Bundesliga. The 19-year-old winger joined BVB’s U-19 squad in 2020 from Manchester City’s youth setup, following in the footsteps of Jadon Sancho.

Owen Hargreaves – 5

Owen Hargreaves played extensively in the German Bundesliga for FC Bayern Munich. He came through FCB’s youth ranks and made over 145 appearances in the top division. Due to his laid-back midfield role, Hargreaves scored only five times in the league before moving to Manchester United in 2007.

Peter Hobday – 5

Peter Hobday spent all of his playing career in Germany after Schloß-Neuhaus from Gillingham FC in 1980. He played over 61 games in the German top division and scored five goals in that time.

Dean Thomas – 5

Dean Thomas also scored five goals during his time in the German Bundesliga. He played over 48 matches in the division, representing Fortuna Dusseldorf. In 1988, Thomas went back to England after signing for Northampton.

Reiss Nelson – 7

Reiss Nelson of Arsenal also played briefly in the German Bundesliga. He joined TSG Hoffenheim in 2018 for a season-long loan. The winger scored seven goals in the league from 23 outings. He recently went on loan again to play for Feyenoord in the Dutch Eredivisie and returned to the London-based club in 2022.

Jude Bellingham – 12

Jude Bellingham chose to move to Borussia Dortmund over Manchester United in order to receive more playing minutes when he was a teenager. The midfielder immediately impressed for the German outfit and scored 12 goals in the Bundesliga from 92 matches.

Harry Kane – 18

Harry Kane has 18 goals in the German Bundesliga from 12 appearances. He is already the fourth-highest English scorer in the league. Judging by the speed at which he is scoring, Kane will likely find himself as the highest English goalscorer in the German top division by the end of the 2023-24 campaign.

Kevin Keegan – 32

Kevin Keegan is the third-highest English goalscorer in the history of the Bundesliga. The forward played for Hamburger SV and featured in the league for 90 matches, scoring 32 goals. The two-time Ballon d’Or winner also won the Bundesliga with Hamburger SV during the 1978-79 season.

Jadon Sancho – 38

Jadon Sancho, formerly of Borussia Dortmund, broke through as one of the most gifted young players in the world due to his performances in the German Bundesliga and other tournaments. The current out-of-favour Manchester United winger scored 38 goals on top of making 51 assists in 104 Bundesliga appearances.

Tony Woodcock – 39

Tony Woodcock is the highest-scoring Englishman in the German Bundesliga for the moment. The attacking winger played for FC Koln in the division and scored 39 goals in 131 appearances. Interestingly, Woodcock won the UEFA Champions League twice, the English League and the Community Shield one time each with Nottingham Forest.
