Alfred Schreuder, the former manager of Ajax, will be replaced as head coach of Al Ain by Hernán Crespo.

Before Galtier took over as manager of Al Duhail, Crespo held that position. Galtier is currently considering joining Al Ain.

Upon firing Argentine boss Hernán Crespo, Qatar winners Al Duhail named Christophe Galtier, the ex-boss of Paris Saint-Germain, as the new coach in charge.

The 48-year-old Crespo led Al Duhail to the Qatar Premier League championship the previous season, but the recent 1-0 loss to Iranian team Persepolis in Doha severely hurt their chances of making it out of the Asian Champions Cup group stage.

After five games, the team has 10 points, good for fourth place in the QSL standings.

Galtier is the most recent well-known figure to relocate from Europe to the Middle East, with several of them joining the Saudi Pro League. Galtier was dismissed by PSG in July after only one campaign as manager and won the French Ligue 1 championship.

He did particularly well with the Parma shirt. For that team, Crespo made 201 games while contributing 20 assists and 94 goals. He also donned his national shirt sixty-four times. For the national team, he tallied 35 goals.

In the summertime of 2014, Crespo began working as a coach with Parma’s U19 team. A year later, he began working at Modena. After serving as Parma’s vice chairman for a year and a half, he went back to his nation to work as a trainer.

In March 2022, following experiences at Banfield, Defensa, and São Paulo, Crespo was appointed by Duhail SC. It was a month ago when he left. Crespo will soon take over as Al-Ain FC’s manager in place of Schreuder.
