Manchester City announce Premier League record revenue of £712.8m

City won the treble last season
For the financial year 2022–2023, Manchester City have announced income of £712.8 million, a Premier League record.
This is higher than Manchester United’s record £648.4 million that was announced in the previous month and up £99.8 million from the year before. City’s revenue is higher than the club milestone of £41.7m from the previous year.
The numbers follow a season during which they won the Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League, becoming the second English team to do so after Manchester United in 1999.
The revenue is lower than the €990 million (£861.43 million) Barcelona brought in for 2019, but the accuracy of that figure has been questioned because of the “exceptional” amounts that were added to the total revenue.

“The most frequent question I received following the Champions League victory in Turkey and the conclusion of “The Treble” was, ‘How do you top that?’‘ stated City chairman Khaldoon al-Mubarak.
“The answer is by doubling down on the proven philosophies and practices that have brought us this success and to challenge ourselves to continue to constantly innovate in order to achieve new levels of performance, on and off the field.
“We will continue to question all the industry norms, evaluate our successes and learn from any failures.
“Success today simply means further investment for tomorrow. Our financial health and on-field success mean everyone connected to Manchester City can look forward to the future with excitement.
“Our collective achievements give me huge confidence that together we can accomplish even more in the years to come.”
All of the club’s main revenue streams have increased, according to its financial statement. Revenues from broadcasting rose 20.2% to £299.4 million. According to City, their success in the FA Cup and Champions League was “primarily” to blame for this.
It further verifies that City was referred to a tribunal on February 6, 2023, due to a “number of alleged breaches of Premier League rules”. In reply, the club reiterated that it “welcomes” the study and that it has “irrefutable evidence” to back up its claims.
