Tottenham suffer third-consecutive defeat in Premier League against Aston Villa

Tottenham Hotspur suffered second-consecutive home defeat
The day Aston Villa honoured former player and coach Terry Venables was when they overcame Tottenham Hotspur, coming from behind.
A little over two hours beforehand kickoff, the former England manager passed away. A minute of applause was given in his honour to remember a man who claimed the FA Cup with Spurs in 1967 as a player and in 1991 as manager.
The early campaign pioneers appeared to be back on pace after the team’s unbeaten start ended with consecutive defeats prior to the international break, thanks to Giovani lo Celso’s deflected opening.
However, Pau Torres tied the score with a header deep into extra time in the first half, and Villa’s comeback was completed when Ollie Watkins scored his 12th goal of the year.
Despite their best efforts, Spurs were unable to prevent their third consecutive loss, even though they had taken the lead in each of those encounters.
