The Nigerian forward is open to joining the Blues

Victor Osimhen of Napoli might be the answer for Chelsea’s persistent striker need, even though his contract is over £100 million ($126 million). This season, the Blues have wasted a lot of resources upfront.

This month’s high-scoring games against Manchester City and Tottenham have covered up holes in the team’s present forward line. Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly looking to attack more troops, and the sensational Osimhen of Napoli is at the top of his current wishlist of targets, according to a recent story from the Telegraph.

The Nigerian forward became the very first African player to take home the Serie A Golden Boot last season, leading the Partenopei to their first Scudetto in thirty-three years with 26 goals in the league.

Ties with Napoli have strained this term, meanwhile, as a result of the club’s perplexing choice to post a video with overtly racist overtones to their TikTok profile.

It is believed that Osimhen’s attorneys are threatening to take that offence to court. The 24-year-old is reportedly open to moving to Chelsea as a consequence of the aforementioned dispute, according to The Telegraph.

Due to their agreement over Kalidou Koulibaly, who had been traded to Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia during the summer, the two teams are connected. Given that Koulibaly is still close in friendship with Osimhen, the Senegalese player is additionally anticipated to be a key component of any trade with the Blues.

It is doubtful that Osimhen would move to Stamford Bridge during the next January transfer window. Chelsea would probably need to surpass the previous mark of £106.8 million spent on Enzo Fernandez nine months ago, as Napoli values the player at £100 million. Pochettino may not have the resources to do so this winter. Nevertheless, the Argentine views Osimhen as the guy to fix the Blues’ overtime problem as a striker.
