Chelsea plan to trigger Victor Osimhen’s €120m release clause in summer
Victor Osimhen has been the Blues priority target to rectify their goalscoring issues
To sign Victor Osimhen from Napoli in the summer, Chelsea are prepared to trigger his €120 million release option.
According to the report, Osimhen has been in regular touch with players like Didier Drogba and John Obi Mikel, who are trying to convince him to sign with Chelsea.
For most of the season, Osimhen has been at the top of Chelsea’s list of players they would like to add to their roster. Ivan Toney is another player the Blues are interested in, although his age and exorbitant asking price are said to be obstacles to a transfer to Stamford Bridge.
The Nigerian international would be pleased to reach a pre-agreement this month that would allow him to formally join in the summer, and he would be delighted to receive an approach from the London team.
The key player for Napoli is not expected to transfer this month, and the pre-agreement is the only means by which a transaction can be reached during this window.

With a release clause of approximately £112 million, Osimhen just inked a new contract that brought Napoli a substantial sum of money. Napoli will expect this money if they are to approve a move this month.
Many Italian sources believe that this is the final season they will witness the forward wearing the renowned light blue of the Serie A champions and anticipate some movement to occur in the upcoming weeks.
In addition, Chelsea is under increasing pressure to act quickly because several teams are expected to be vying for Osimhen’s signing in the summer, which might lead to a transfer war.
When Mauricio Pochettino’s team recruited Enzo Fernandez from Benfica in the summer of last year, they just encountered a similar circumstance.
Should the deal go through, Osimhen would rank among the club’s highest-paid players come summertime. Pochettino, the manager of Chelsea, has been pressuring the board to give his youthful team more already assembled exposure.
