Cortalim Villagers beat Vasco SC by two goals.

Cortalim Villagers grabbed full points following their 2-0 win over Vasco Sports Club while Dempo SC squandered the chance to go on top of Goa Pro League following their 1-1 draw on Friday.

Goals from Micheal Dias and Cyril Dias were enough for Cortalim Villagers to secure a comfortable win at Nagoa ground.

At Dempo SC academy ground, Calangute started like a rocket, Jovito and Gonsalves bombarding Dylan, Dempo’s rock in goal. The Eagles, meanwhile, lacked bite, relying on Sairon’s set-pieces.

The second half saw a resurgent Calangute, Gonsalves threatening again. Then, Dempo struck gold in the 71st minute, Rodrigues nodding home a corner.

But the joy was short-lived. Substitute Aman Govekar, with seconds remaining, silenced Dempo SC Academy with a thunderous equalizer, leaving both teams with mixed emotions. Dylan’s heroics and Calangute’s late surge were the highlights of a pulsating encounter.

In GFA Division II, FC Goa and Dunes SC played out a goalless draw.

In GFA U-13 Division II, Canacona SCC secured a comfortable 9-1 win over Ave Maria AWC. Union of Chinchinim Villagers downed Wilred Leisure 21-1. Valpoi FC defeated Vintage 73 SC 3-0.
