Dempo SC back on top of the table with 25 points from 12 games.
A fine brace from Arnold Oliveira powered Dempo SC to a resounding 6-0 win over Vasco SC in the Goa Pro League at Duler Stadium, Mapusa.
Aaron Barreto, Pratik Naik, Kipgen, and Topon M also found the net for the rampant winners.
Dempo struck early. In the 16th minute, Sairon Albuquerque’s long ball from midfield was cleared by Vasco, but fell perfectly for Oliveira to unleash a stunning volley that kissed the post before nestling in the net.
Just before the break, Oliveira doubled Dempo’s lead, capitalizing on a goalkeeping error.
Dempo continued to dominate, particularly in set-pieces. After Gurpreet Singh failed to reach Oliveira’s corner, Pratik Naik rose highest to head home.
Later Topon set Aaron free, and Barreto broke through the Vasco defense to finally score the fourth for the Golden Eagles.
Substitute Rohan Mangaonkar turned provider, setting up goals for Kipgen and Topon Minj in the dying moments to seal the emphatic victory.
This win puts Dempo back on top of the table with 25 points from 12 games, sending a powerful message to their rivals. Vasco, meanwhile, remain stuck on 10 points from 11 games, their title hopes seemingly fading.
