Ratings: FC Goa edge past Kerala Blasters in ISL summit showdown

FC Goa reclaimed their pole position in ISL 2023-24, courtesy this win.
In a high-stakes showdown that lived up to its billing, FC Goa faced off against Kerala Blasters in a top-of-the-table clash that had fans on the edge of their seats. Goa, entering the match with an unbeaten streak, aimed to solidify their position at the summit of the ISL table. The intense battle unfolded with both sides showcasing their prowess, but it was FC Goa who emerged triumphant with a slender 1-0 victory, courtesy of a decisive goal by Rowllin Borges.

A good night for the keeper. Not very busy but alert when called upon.
Seriton Fernandes – 7
Another reliable showing from the Goan full-back.
Odei Onaindia – 8
A solid game for the stand-in skipper. His impressive defensive performance was backed up by his efficient 92% pass accuracy.
Sandesh Jhingan – 8
Started off slow but recovered well. Squandered a good opportunity to give his side the lead after being set up by his defensive partner, Odei.
Jay Gupta – 8
A brilliant display by the left-back where he showcased both attacking and defensive prowess. The full-back completed all four of his dribbles and won six of his eight ground duels.
Rowlin Borges – 7
Continued his decent run of form in midfield with his energetic performance and got a well-deserved goal for his side.
Carl Mchugh – 7
A decent outing for the Irish midfielder. He was efficient with the ball at his feet and coupled it up with astute defensive discipline.
Raynier Fernandes – 7
Put in a decent shift. Started off in the left wing position and then replaced Rowllin in the centre of midfield.
Victor Rodriguez – 7
Another influential performance from the Spaniard as he was constantly pulling the strings between the lines.
Boris Singh – 7
Had a positive start and continued throughout the match. Constantly provided his side with width and maintained his defensive discipline out of possession.
Noah Sodaoui – 6
A rare quiet night for the star forward.
Substitutes
Udanta Singh – 6
Replaced the injured Rowllin at half time. Played left wing to start off and then moved to his customary right wing position and put in a decent shift.
Carlos Martinez – 6
Replaced Victor Rodriguez and provided his side with fresh legs and a target to hit up front when under pressure.
Saviour Gama – 6
A good 10 minutes down the left wing for the versatile Goan.

Although Goa scored a goal past him, Sachin was quite brilliant at his work while collecting the ball and blocking it.
Pritam Kotal – 6
Kotal had a good game and registered some brilliant tackles to keep the opposition at bay.
Milos Drinic – 6.5
Drinic made some important tackles in the second half of the game.
Ruivah Hormipam – 6
Hormipam looked more agile in the first half as compared to the second.
Naocha Singh – 7
Naocha completely dominated in the left flank of the backline.
Danish Farooq – 6.5
Danish maintained the midfield quite well and gave some eye-catching passes during the course of the game.
Vibin Mohanan – 7
Vibin was good with his first touches and created some chances towards the end of the first half.
Dimitrios Diamantakos – 7.5
Diamantakos created some chances in the first half of play but couldn’t capitalize on it.
Kwame Peprah – 6.5
Peprah was brilliant with his game up front but lacked in finishing.
Mohammed Aimen – 6.5
Aimen had a low par game as per his standard as he looked out of touch sometimes.
Adrian Luna – 7.5
Luna was the best in the middle of the park and the best player for Kerala Blasters today.

Sandeep replaced Pritam Kotal in the 69th minute. He controlled the game better than Kotal.

Rahul replaced Aimen in the 69th minute.
Ishan Pandita – 6
Ishan replaced Hormipam in the 76th minute. As usual Pandita covered the ground brilliantly during his stay.

Replaced Peprah in the 77th minute. Got too less time to prove his worth.
