Thomas Muller is leaning towards extending his deal

Bayern Munich are eager to extend Thomas Muller’s deal with the team, as has been reported before. Müller’s contract is slated to expire in the summer, therefore Der Rekordmeister is going to have to move swiftly. Some of Europe’s best clubs, like Manchester United, are considering making a move for the 34-year-old.

However, it is anticipated that Müller will make some demands following the announcement of Manuel Neuer’s contract renewal with the team. Neuer has recently agreed to an extension with the reigning champions, reportedly earning the Bayern custodian €20 million a year, after missing nearly a year due to injury.

Bild claims that for Thomas Muller to stay in Bavaria, a comparable wage will need to be negotiated. If not, Müller plans to depart the team in the summer to sign with a Champions League team.

Nevertheless, it is anticipated that the two sides will resolve soon. Herbert Hainer, the president of Bayern Munich, expressed his want for Müller to stay with the team in an interview with Bild TV on Sunday.

“We are having discussions with him; I am also confident, and I really hope that Thomas will stay with us.”

Because of Jamal Musiala’s skill, the 34-year-old may not be getting much playing time under Thomas Tuchel, but Müller still has a lot to offer the team. Bayern should take all necessary steps to keep Müller from leaving because of his experience and the outstanding qualities he still possesses.

In addition to being connected to the Red Devils, 34-year-old Germany captain Lothar Matthaus, who won the World Cup, recently counselled the player to think about leaving the team if he wants to play more frequently.

He went on to say that Muller might think about joining Lionel Messi in the Major League Soccer, where the two might team up.

Since Harry Kane joined the team this summer, the Germany international’s playing time has decreased. In just 575 minutes on the pitch during his 15 appearances for the team in all contests, he has contributed five assists and two goals.
