Top African players compete for CAF Awards 2023

Achraf Hakimi and Victor Osimhen will compete against Mohamed Salah for the best player in Africa. The CAF Awards 2023 are just near and these three stars are looking to become African Footballer of the Year. Sadio Mane and Riyad Mahrez failed to make it to the top three. Salah was the runner-up last year and is eyeing his third award.

Asisat Oshoala, Thembi Kgatlana and Barbra Banda compete for the award in the women’s category.

Voting is by the African football body’s technical committee, media, captains and coaches of national teams, plus clubs who took part in continental competitions, CAF said.

This year the best goalkeepers in the continent will also receive a prize in both men’s and women’s categories.

When and where will CAF Awards 2023 take place?

The African Footballer of the Year 2023 awards will be held on Monday, 11 December 2023, 5:30 PM (GMT); 11:00 PM (IST) at Palais des Congrès, Movenpick, Marrakech, Morocco.
