Former Man United star Dimitar Berbatov says Kai Havertz reminds him of his playing style
Kai Havertz joined Arsenal from Chelsea this summer
While queried which of the stars in the Premier League most resembles his style of play, Dimitar Berbatov responded unexpectedly.
The Manchester United icon was renowned for his grace and ease, despite rumours that he was indolent.
He once remarked, “There’s a saying in Bulgaria that great quality doesn’t require much effort.” “You won’t witness me huffing and puffing around the pitch.” Berbatov identified a midfielder as the player that most resembled him, despite being a prolific striker who won the Premier League Golden Boot in 2010–11.
The former United and Tottenham player identified an Arsenal player as his most similar player, demonstrating that he was at ease putting his hatred for the team behind him.
To considerable surprise, Dimitar Berbatov determined that the technician most closely resembled him was Kai Havertz.
He was questioned about which player most embodies his “calm, composed, but deadly” style during an interview with Stadium Astro. Berbatov became the most costly Bulgarian footballer ever when he signed a £10.9 million contract to join Tottenham from Leverkusen in 2006.
In 2020, Kai Havertz made a £62 million trade from the Bundesliga team to Chelsea. The following summer, he completed a £65 million transfer to Arsenal. Fans of the Gunners have differing opinions about his performances.

He replied: ‘I don’t like comparing, but to answer the question, I need to point out someone.
‘The first name popping in to my mind is Kai Havertz.
‘The [Bayer] Leverkusen link. Not because I came from Leverkusen and he came from Leverkusen, but he has that way of moving around the pitch, not necessarily in a way that he’s in a hurry.
‘He’s watching, he’s studying, he’s taking his time. He has a good touch on the ball as well. I like him to be honest and I wish him all the best at Arsenal.’
The 24-year-old had a rough beginning and came under fire from the team’s supporters, who felt he disappeared during crucial times.
Late in October, William Gallas asserted that Havertz had accomplished ‘nothing’ since relocating to the Emirates and that it was a mistake to have paid a great deal for him.
Havertz, nevertheless, has been happy since the middle of November, as he has scored four goals in his last six games.
Mikel Arteta pulled him in front of the away supporters to receive the proper recognition when he entered the game late and scored the game-winning goal against Brentford to propel Arsenal to the top of the league last month.
