Manchester United in talks with Serhou Guirassy's representatives over possible January move
The Red Devils’ current striker Rasmus Hojlund is yet to score a Premier League goal
Serhou Guirassy, a VfB Stuttgart striker, is negotiating with Manchester United. According to The Guardian, United have spoken with the player’s representative about a possible deal.
There is a €17.5 million buyout provision in Guirassy’s contract. The 27-year-old striker has ten Bundesliga games under his belt with 15 goals and 1 assist. Fulham is also considering it. Stuttgart has signed Guirassy up to the summer of 2026.
Since relocating permanently to Stuttgart in the summer, the Guinean striker has been in incredible form this season, totalling 15 goals in 10 Bundesliga games.
The 27-year-old smashed Robert Lewandowski’s mark by scoring 11 goals in his first seven games, and he is now only behind Harry Kane of Bayern Munich in the most prolific scorers’ statistics.
Due to a release clause that was incorporated when he came from Rennes, Guirassy is available at a discounted €17.5m (£15.1m).

It is known that following an uphill battle to Premier League existence for Højlund, who has yet to record a goal or produce an assist in the competition, United has gotten in touch with his agents to discuss a possible departure.
The acquisition of Guirassy may be contingent upon finding a buyer for Anthony Martial, who scored in Sunday’s 3-0 victory over Everton. Ten Hag is also rumoured to be interested in a right-sided centre-back and two midfielders in January.
As Eddie Howe tries to bolster his attacking options in January, Guirassy is also rumoured to be on Newcastle’s shortlist. West Ham, Fulham, Brentford, Crystal Palace, and Bournemouth have all previously been connected to Guirassy.
In a private conversation published in the Guardian last month, Guirassy stated that while he would want to play in the Premier League, he did not rule out sticking at Stuttgart until the end of the current campaign.
