When are the Kolkata derbies in ISL 2023-24?

The first-leg Kolkata derby was initially scheduled in October but had to be postponed.

The 2023-24 Indian Super League (ISL) season will return to action after a month’s hiatus. The top-tier league went for a one-month break due to India’s 2023 AFC Asian Cup campaign. And while the league was away, the Kalinga Super Cup entertained the fans with club football action.

The first half of the season unfolded a lot of mind blowing displays and the expectations are the same going into the second half. NorthEast United FC will take a trip to the steel city to face Jamshedpur FC and will get us underway.

The league will restart on January 31 and will go on until April 14. During this time frame, there will be an international break for India’s 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers against Afghanistan.

While all the games are expected to produce entertaining results, the iconic Kolkata derby is the one to watch out for. This fixture has a lot of history, emotions and importance attached to it. It’s more like a festival in the city of joy.

Mohun Bagan Super Giant have an 100% record against East Bengal in the ISL. The Mariners have six wins in as many matches against the Red & Golds while East Bengal are yet to beat the Mariners in the top flight league.

February 3, 2024

The first Kolkata derby of the ISL 2023-24 season will be played on February 3 at 7:30 PM IST at the famous Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata. Originally scheduled to be played in October last year, the fixture was rescheduled due to some unavoidable circumstances. It will be a home game for the Mariners while East Bengal will be the away team.

March 10, 2024

The second Kolkata derby of the ISL season will be played on March 10 at 7:30 PM IST. This match will also be held at the Salt Lake Stadium. However, this derby will be a home game for the Red & Gold Brigade while the Mariners will be the away team.
