Al-Shabab reach agreement with Newcastle to sign Miguel Almiron

The Magpies have put a few key players on the market
Now, it’s being touted as an “exclusive” that Al-Shabab and Newcastle United have tentatively agreed to trade for Miguel Almiron. This information, or assertion, was provided by journalist Ben Jacobs on Monday morning.
Al-Shabab, who presently sit twelfth in the Saudi Pro League, didn’t sign as many well-known players in the summer of 2023 as many other teams did.
Their two largest summer acquisitions were Yannick Carrasco from Atletico Madrid for £12 million and Habib Diallo from Strasbourg for £15 million. Not Al-Shabab, but Al Nassr, Al Hilal, Al Ittihad, and Al Ahli were the four clubs in whom Saudi Arabia PIF acquired 75% ownership last summer.
As with the numerous (now frequent!) rumours that Miguel Almiron is leaving Newcastle United to join another team, we’ll never know the truth about these assertions. The same is true for Callum Wilson, Kieran Trippier, and any other person about whom we are hearing rumours.
Rafa Benitez signed Miguel Almiron for £20 million on January 31, 2019, which will be exactly five years from now in nine days. Miggy will turn 30 in 19 days. There are currently 2.5 years left on Miguel Almiron’s agreement, which expires in June 2026.

Earlier today, Ben Jacobs, the same journalist, revealed that Jose Mourinho had declined the opportunity to take over as manager of Al-Shabab.
Almiron, in the meantime, might come in handy during the situation at the Saudi club. Al Shabab has been unable to win the Saudi Pro League since 2012, and they currently occupy the 11th spot. The PIF-backed Riyadh competitors are making it difficult for the club from Riyadh to compete.
Almiron can enhance the play of another Belgian ace on the squad, although not being as good as players like Neymar and Cristiano Ronaldo.
While Sadio Mane and Aleksandar Mitrovic have been added by Al Nassr and Al Hilal, Yannick Carrasco was only able to be signed by Shabab for a fee of $16 million. Furthermore, their most recent efforts to bring in Jose Mourinho in hopes of a comeback have failed.
