Chelsea have not submitted any bid for Viktor Gyokeres: Reports
Viktor Gyokeres has been slapped with €100 million price tag by Sporting CP
Sporting’s Viktor Gyokeres is reportedly the target of a massive bid from Premier League team Chelsea, according to rumours in Portugal. For €20 million (£17.2 million), Sporting acquired the Swedish international from Coventry City, a Championship team, in the summer of 2017.
In 24 appearances this season, he has scored 20 goals and provided 10 assists, demonstrating his rapid rise in Portugal. Journalist Nizaar Kinsella of Standard Sport, meanwhile, asserts that the Record report is untrue.
If Chelsea are not interested in acquiring the Swede this month, they’re most likely waiting for Victor Osimhen of Napoli to become available.
It should come as no surprise that other clubs throughout Europe have taken notice of Gyokeres’ excellent play.
Both Chelsea and Arsenal are looking for a new number nine, and the former are said to have launched a high-profile move to acquire the former Coventry striker.
Sporting has been offered £73.1 million by the Blues in exchange for their star striker, with an additional €5 million in bonuses, as reported by Portuguese publication Record (via Sport Witness).
The titans of Portugal have “rejected” this offer and instructed Mauricio Pochettino’s team to either pay Gyokeres’ €100 million (£86 million) release clause or ship him back to London.

A £112 million release clause was just included in the new deal that the Nigerian striker signed.
In addition, he has been connected to Arsenal, who, like their rivals in London, have had difficulty scoring goals this season.
Another player that is on everyone’s mind is Ivan Toney. When his eight-month suspension ends this month, the Brentford attacker is expected to make a comeback to play.
Arsenal and Chelsea are naturally hesitant to pay the £100 million that the Bees are allegedly demanding if they are to end their partnership with Toney this month.
