Chelsea's Christopher Nkunku out for couple of weeks with hip injury

Christopher Nkunku earlier picked knee injury before the start of the new season
Christopher Nkunku has sustained a fresh hip injury, according to Mauricio Pochettino, following his absence from Chelsea’s FA Cup match against Preston.
The French striker did not contribute in any way as the Blues defeated the Championship team 4-0 at Stamford Bridge on Saturday to advance to the FA Cup’s fourth stage. Pochettino stated that the Frenchman had suffered a new injury as a result of this absence.
“It’s really tough, I think you empathise with us. The circumstances are really tough. Sometimes it is difficult to explain to you and you to translate to our fans,” he said in a press conference.

“Nkunku, we don’t want to put pressure on him. We know it is difficult after a long time injured. Six months away, like now he wasn’t involved because he suffered after training a problem in his hip and we need to see if he can be ready for the next few games. They need to play also to get the best and we cannot provide this gametime to players that need to go and feel competition because we need to win.
Sometimes it’s really tough to explain to the players who feel the pressure to perform and to play. Sometimes it is difficult to explain but if you understand football you realize how tough it is.”
Nkunku and Chelsea will be quite concerned about this most recent injury. The France international arrived at Chelsea during the summer transfer window, but his time there hasn’t been easy. Due to a knee injury, he received during the preseason, he was sidelined for the first part of the season and didn’t play until December 24. For the Blues, he has only made four appearances.
Nkunku’s return to the London team is anticipated, as Pochettino’s team prepares to play Middlesbrough in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday. The Argentine will hope that Nkunku’s absence isn’t too long as he already has nine additional first-team players out due to injury.
