Victor Osimhen will not be available for Napoli to handle their upcoming games.
It’s possible that the team, which is tenth in Serie A, won’t have their star striker for up to a month. The Nigerian will miss several important games for the Italian team because he is in the Ivory Coast for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Diego Armando Maradona Arena will miss the Super Eagles star’s presence as he has been an essential member of Walter Mazzarri’s team.
Let’s examine the games Osimhen might miss between January 13 and February 11, when the African continental tournament is scheduled to begin.
The dates of Nigeria’s three group games are January 14–22. Osimhen was called up for overseas service by the country he represents, therefore he was unable to watch Napoli’s match against Torino on Sunday, according to Pulse Sports.
ESPN reports that Napoli’s big 3-0 loss to Torino during the weekend was largely due to their severe lack of Osimhen’s services.

Due to the AFCON, Osimhen will additionally be absent from his club’s next games against Salernitana in Serie A and Fiorentina in the Supercoppa Italiana.
If Osimhen leads Nigeria to the Africa Cup of Nations final, he is going to miss a further three matches for Napoli.
He won’t be present for their Serie A games against AC Milan on February 11, Lazio on January 28, and Verona on February 4.
Nigeria and the host Ivory Coast were drawn together in Group A, where they will probably compete for first place.
The Super Eagles play Guinea-Bissau to wrap up the round-robin phase and start the regular season against Equatorial Guinea.
