Ivan Toney will start & captain Brentford against Nottingham Forest; confirms Thomas Frank

Ivan Toney will return after serving an eight-month ban
When Ivan Toney finally returns from his betting ban, Thomas Frank has guaranteed he will lead Brentford and start against Nottingham Forest.
This week marked the conclusion of Toney’s eight-month sentence for violating FA standards, which allowed him to resume playing after being suspended in May.
For the first four months of his being suspended, striker Toney was not allowed to practice with his teammates. Frank reaffirmed that Toney is 99.9% likely to stay at Brentford this month.
Since September, he has only been allowed to participate in internal games, drills, and private events.
Frank stated:
Frank stated, “It [the Forest game] is classic Ivan.” Brentford and Forest are separated in the table by just one point. ideal timing. He would have thrived on playing at home under the lights with a little bit of the game, but it might have been away with a 12.30pm kickoff.
‘He has been buzzing [in training]. He is like an eight year-old boy who wants to just go out and play his first football game or just has pure joy of playing football. ‘I’m looking into the eyes of a player who is very committed, excited and can’t wait. ‘He will start tomorrow and he will also lead the team out of the tunnel. He will be the captain because Christian is injured so I’m pretty sure he is ready.

‘I think so [he is ready for 90 minutes]. There will be extra adrenaline and excitement in him and he will run around like he has never run around before.
‘He is very fit and has played in house games and played 90 mins there. That’s one thing and a Premier League game is another thing.’
‘He is a special character in many ways. A fantastic person. The energy he brings, the smile, the positive every day at the training ground is a massive thing and on the pitch he drags people, wants to win, wants to help the team so it’s a massive boost.
‘It’s like a new signing. There’s an argument that he is the second best striker in the Premier League. Last year he was the third after Harry Kane and Erling Haaland. Of course he needs to prove it again.’
