Jordan Henderson closing on move to Ajax after six months in Saudi Arabia

Al-Ettifaq agreed to sell the English midfielder to Ajax
Jordan Henderson, an iconic player at Liverpool, reportedly persuaded Al-Ettifaq to permit him to depart, and the two parties have already reached a compromise in principle.
The former leader of Liverpool, who only completed a £12 million ($15 million) move to Al-Ettifaq in the summer of 2023, is keen to get out of the Middle East. The midfielder’s wife may have had an impact on his decision to flee Saudi Arabia, as the couple has struggled to adjust to life in their new country.
The Atheltic claims that Henderson has successfully negotiated his way out of Al-Ettifaq and that his agents are assisting the team in ending the player’s three-year contract early. The Saudi Pro League team was determined not to let go of him and was not going to budge on his demands.
But now that they’ve finally relented, Henderson is approved for an ongoing transfer. After giving his word to join the Eredivisie team, the midfielder is already returning to England. Henderson will be introduced as a new Ajax player once the necessary papers and medical are finished.

In 17 Saudi Pro League games, Henderson has tallied four assists while playing alongside Steven Gerrard, a former Liverpool colleague. With the results going south, he has struggled to make an impression, and Al-Ettifaq is currently mired in eighth place with just 25 points from 19 games.
Henderson is anticipated to do well in Amsterdam right away because Ajax has had a difficult season thus far. After just 11 games in command, Maurice Steijn was fired in October, and Ajax, who were languishing second from the bottom in the Eredivisie with just five points from their first seven games, had a new manager.
