LaLiga 2023-24 Matchday 22 is set to be underway

High-flying Las Palmas will host giants Real Madrid as the two teams look to continue pushing towards their objectives this LaLiga season. Garcia Pimienta’s side have certainly claimed a welcomed boost over the past fortnight. Last seen putting in a rugged performance away at Rayo Vallecano as they eventually snatched a 2-0 win. However, facing what will be a heavyweight challenge this weekend, they will have to give their all if they want to beat the side from Madrid.

Real Madrid, on the other hand, have trailed surprise leaders Girona for most of the campaign thus far. Currently in second place with 51 points from 20 games, Carlo Ancelotti’s men will need to be at their best to challenge for the title. The team are currently in great form in the league. Los Blancos will be excited for this clash as they will be hoping to take all three points with them.

Kick-Off:

Saturday, 27th January, 2024, 08:45 PM (IST), 03:15 PM (GMT), 10:15 AM (EST)

Stadium: Gran Canaria

Form

Las Palmas Form (All Competitions): W-W-L-L-D

Real Madrid Form (All Competitions): W-L-W-W-W

Players to Watch

Alberto Moleiro (Las Palmas)

A right-footed attacking midfielder, Moleiro is cementing himself as one of the first names on the team sheet. Moleiro has proven to be one of the breakout stars of the La Liga season alongside the likes of Jude Bellingham, Savio, Lamine Yamal, and Samuel Lino. Moleiro looks to push the ball forward and attack the opponent’s penalty area every time he receives possession, improvising and breaking the lines with his dribbling and passing and constantly keeping defenders on his toes. Moleiro is capable of shooting with either foot and picking the right moment to test the goalkeeper

Vinicius Junior (Real Madrid)

He is at his most threatening after having received a pass on the left against an isolated right-back. He tends to try to move infield and onto his favoured right foot, because when goes on the outside on his left he is far less effective. His impressive acceleration means that opponents cannot commit to closing Vinícius down too tightly if he receives the ball while wide. His movement is extremely clever and a crucial part of what makes him so effective. He shows great awareness both of where space is and how to use it.
