Al-Hilal beat Inter Miami 4-3 in the game

In a club welcoming on Monday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Malcolm netted an injury-time header to earn Al Hilal a 4-3 victory over Inter Miami CF and Lionel Messi.

Equipped with a plethora of former European professionals, the Saudi Pro League team easily won 2-0 thanks to goals from Aleksandar Mitrovic, who finished clinically, and Abdullah Al-Hamddan, who took advantage of an Inter Miami clearance gone awry to score his second goal.

Before halftime, the visitors equalised through Luis Suárez, who responded to his initial goal after moving to Miami. Lionel Messi’s equaliser was disallowed for offside, but Al Hilal scored again through a deflected shot from Michael Delgado to lead 3-1 at the half time.

In an intense opening 10 minutes of the interval, David Ruiz nearly single-handedly put Miami back in the game by earning a penalty that Messi executed and then scored with a brilliant shot from the top of the penalty area.

Both teams had opportunities to win, but it was not until the 88th minute that Al Hilal finally seized the lead thanks to a header from Malcolm that raced forward in response to an assist from Yasir Al Shahrani and struck the goal off Drake Callender’s fingers.

This outcome means that Miami has lost its first three preseason games, having drawn with El Salvador and lost to FC Dallas. Just before Malcolm’s winning goal in the 87th minute, Messi, who has played an increasing amount of minutes in each of Miami’s preseason games, was substituted off.

After Messi departed Paris Saint-Germain and emerged as the sport’s hottest free man last year, Al-Hilal was heavily linked to a move for the player.

In the end, he decided to relocate to Miami to play for David Beckham’s squad, and he soon helped the team win its first trophy—the Leagues Cup.
