Nottingham Forest injury update ahead of FA Cup replay against Blackpool; Antony Elanga ruled out
The last meeting ended in a 2-2 draw
Nuno Espirito Santo, the head coach of Nottingham Forest, maintains that his team’s lineup against Blackpool on Wednesday is going to be “strong” because they “want to go through” to the FA Cup fourth round.
Additionally, Nuno feels that Forest “have to start better” going into their replay matchup with League One Blackpool after the team overcame a deficit to win.
Because of the Africa Cup of Nations, Forest is lacking six players, while Anthony Elanga and Taiwo Awoniyi are two important players who are sidelined with injuries.
Nuno went on to say that he won’t be rotating his team; instead, he would go with the players who are willing to play in Saturday’s Premier League match against Brentford and the FA Cup match against Blackpool.
Nuno stated, “Nothing has changed,” prior to the FA Cup replay matchup with Blackpool. “There are still some problems with injuries.” Since we don’t have many selections, we will choose the ones that are offered. No fresh wounds.
Sadly, Anthony Elanga is not available. Divock [Origi] and Anthony are still sidelined, while several players are absent from AFCON2024. Additionally, there are a few minor details [with others], but we won’t make judgements today.

This replay caused us to rethink our original intentions. We started out with a few days off and are now getting ready for the match.
“Our mistake was at the beginning of the game where we conceded too easy, and we have to improve on that,” he said.
“We have to be compact because we want to go through.” “The players are ready for two games in a row because our preparation has been good. It’s always going to be a strong starting 11.”
If Forest defeats Blackpool, they will play Bristol City or West Ham United in the rematch, which is scheduled for Tuesday at 19:45 GMT.
