Pep Guardiola provides Ederson injury update; Manchester City injury news

Ederson was forced off in just eight minutes vs Newcastle United
Ederson went down with an injury eight minutes into Manchester City’s match against Newcastle.
The Brazil international was injured while battling against a challenge by Alexander Isak and Sean Longstaff.
Longstaff scored past Ederson, but not before he crashed into the custodian, drawing an offside flag that ultimately resulted in the goal being disallowed.
Despite his best efforts to continue playing, Ederson failed to come back from the collision and was ultimately replaced by Stefan Ortega. Pep Guardiola, the manager of the Brazilian, welcomed him to the touchline before he headed directly down the tunnel.

‘He had a big knock. I didn’t speak with the doctors. He didn’t walk well as he left the pitch, but if it is just a knock, he will be fine because we have a break for ten days. If there is some damage, the doctors will tell me.’
To win the team’s eighth Premier League title and to defend the title, Guardiola has rested a few important players for Man City this season.
Due to an injury sustained in Manchester City’s opening Premier League match of the season, Kevin De Bruyne hasn’t played the entire season thus far.
Although he featured and was on top form against Newcastle, Mateo Kovacic and Rodri lined up in the Citizens’ centre of the field as the Belgium international was left off the field by Guardiola.
Erling Haaland has additionally not played in recent weeks due to a foot injury he sustained during Aston Villa’s December loss. At the moment, neither Jack Grealish nor John Stones are feasible.
