When will Kelechi Iheanacho join Nigeria’s camp for AFCON 2023?

Victor Boniface is already out for the Super Eagles
Kelechi Iheanacho is anticipated to go to Lagos later today (January 9) to join his Super Eagles colleagues. There, they will be treated to a send-forth meal by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, according to Complete Sports.
Before the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, Nigeria experienced a significant boost following the announcement that striker Kelechi Iheanacho of Leicester City will be eligible to compete.
Due to ailments, the 27-year-old was ruled out of the Ivory Coast continental competition. He was unable to travel to the team’s training camp in Abu Dhabi.
The Nigerian striker, who was recovering from an injury he sustained while playing for Leicester City, will travel to Ivory Coast for the competition along with the rest of the team.
From January 13 to February 11, the AFCON will take place. Nigeria is vying to win the cup for the third time in a row, having won it in 1980, 1994, and 2013.

Iheanacho’s therapy is now complete, and he will be prepared for the Africa Cup of Nations, according to Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro, as reported by All Nigeria Soccer.
After suffering an injury while playing for Leicester, the 27-year-old forward, who has already earned 50 caps for the Super Eagles, was a major concern for the continental championship.
Iheanacho’s availability for inclusion in the Super Eagles’ opening AFCON group-stage match against Equatorial Guinea on January 14 is still unknown, though.
Before this, it also revealed that Terem Moffi was called up by Nigeria to take Victor Boniface’s position on the squad’s Africa Cup of Nations roster due to injury.
