The Supercopa de Espana or the Spanish Super Cup is a competition held every year. Earlier, only two teams played in the competition but from the 2019-20 edition, four teams participate in the Supercopa de Espana.

The winners and runners-up of LaLiga and Copa del Rey get an opportunity to play in the competition.

The current competition has existed since 1982. Between 1940 and 1953, several other tournaments between the Spanish league champions and the cup winners were played.

Real Madrid have won the competition twice since the introduction of four teams. Barcelona and Athletic Club have won the Spanish Super Cup once in the last four seasons. Overall, Barcelona have 14 trophies to their name.

Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Osasuna will play in the Spanish Super Cup this season.

Copa del Rey winners Real Madrid take on their city rivals Atletico Madrid at the Al-Awwal Stadium. LaLiga winners Barcelona will face Osasuna in the other semi-finals.
