Arsenal enter race to sign Chelsea target Victor Osimhen in summer 2024
Napoli have confirmed that Victor Osimhen will leave by the end of the season
This summer, Arsenal plans to investigate competing with Chelsea for the acquisition of Victor Osimhen, a striker for Napoli.
The Super Eagles’ international player from Nigeria recently said in an interview with CBS Sports that he had previously decided to quit the Serie A champions at the end of their current campaign. The player travels with the team for the Africa Cup of Nations.
Chelsea are the clear front-runner to sign him, but they will need to meet his recently added release clause, which is estimated to be valued between £110 million and £100 million.
Nevertheless, Arsenal are also intrigued; they had already had a meeting with Osimhen’s representatives in 2022. It is important to note that, while Mikel Arteta looks to bolster his forward line—something he was unable to accomplish this winter—they are also keeping an eye on Ivan Toney and other strikers.
Arsenal have not yet chosen their top summer striker target, but Chelsea is anticipated to make every effort to sign the 25-year-old African Player of the Year, even if it means shelling out a sizable chunk of money in salary and transfer fees.

Osimhen signed a new deal in December that would take him through 2026, but it was sealed in honour of Aurelio De Laurentiis, the club president. It will guarantee Napoli a premium fee to help finance a much-required reconstruction.
Before the start of the upcoming season, the Italian manager stated last month that he anticipates Osimhen to depart for either Real Madrid or Paris Saint-Germain, two English teams.
Meanwhile, Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi is one of the players at the highest levels of Barcelona’s and Bayern Munich’s list of priorities, and Arsenal are up against fierce competition for his services.
