Neymar is currently playing for Saudi club Al-Hilal

By asserting that Lionel Messi wants him to sign with the MLS team, Neymar has added gasoline to the flames surrounding a possible transfer to Inter Miami.

Currently, the Brazilian forward plays for Saudi Pro League powerhouse Al-Hilal. In a rumoured €90 million agreement, he left Paris Saint-Germain to join Jorge Jesus’ team last summer.

However, because he tore his cruciate ligament in October, Neymar, 32, missed most of his first season with the Saudi team. In five games spanning all tournaments, he has three assists and one goal.

“I have spoken with Messi, he said that he wants me to come to Inter Miami.”

Only a few months had passed since Messi left the Parc des Princes before Brazil’s all-time leading goalscorer left PSG. The 2022 FIFA World Cup champion chose to join Inter Miami once his contract expired.

Neymar’s current ailment raises some questions about his future with Al-Hilal. He was removed from the Saudi club’s roster for the current campaign in order to create space for Renan Lodi, who was signed in January.

At DRV PNK Stadium, 36-year-old Leo Messi seems to be hoping his old Barcelona teammate will be there with him. According to the Brazilian (via Managing Barca),

David Beckham, a partner in the ownership of Inter Miami, has assembled a formidable group of legendary Barcelona players at DRV PNK. At the MLS club, Messi was joined by Luis Suarez, Jordi Alba, and Sergio Busquets most recently.

During his two years at PSG, the Argentine reconnected with the Brazilian. In the French capital, the team shared two Ligue 1 titles and the French Super Cup.

It was not shocking when the Argentine icon revealed at the beginning of June that he was leaving the Parisians. Despite scoring 32 goals and providing 35 assists in 75 games across all competitions, he had a difficult time adjusting to life in France.
