Odilon Kossounou has been a key player under Xabi Alonso

According to reports, Manchester United and Tottenham are vying for Odilon Kossounou, the defender for Bayer Leverkusen. Since taking over at Old Trafford in the summer of 2022, Erik ten Hag has had to make adjustments to his central defensive combination. Harry Maguire, a former defender, lost his captaincy and spent time away from the team before making his way back.

Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez have both experienced their share of injuries. After recovering from his ankle ailment, the Argentine is currently sidelined due to a knee injury; nevertheless, Varane has had a string of setbacks that have limited his participation.

There have been rumours that United’s Premier League competitors are vying for the centre-back position. SportBILD reports that Jeremie Frimpong, Exequiel Palacios, Edmond Tapsoba, and Odilon Kossonou are the four stars of Bayer Leverkusen that Ten Hag and the Manchester scouting staff are keeping an eye on.

The Manchester Evening News revealed last week that Tapsoba and Frimpong were being monitored by United. Xabi Alonso’s team has exceeded expectations this season by winning the Bundesliga and challenging Bayern Munich’s hegemony at the top of the standings.

Amidst the players rumoured to be heading to the Premier League in the summer is Gleison Bremer, a defender for Juventus. It has been rumoured that Man United are one of the contenders; nevertheless, Bremer is one of the seven “untouchable” players in Turin, according to Tuttosport.

Manchester United are one of the four English premier league teams, according to Tutto Atalanta, that have “initiated” the pursuit of Ederson, an Atalanta midfield player. Ten Hag’s team is reportedly facing competition from Arsenal, Liverpool, and Spurs for the 24-year-old Brazilian, who still has a two-year term left on his Bergamo deal.
