Hojlund also included Ferdinand and Peter Schmeichel in his five-a-side team

Cristiano Ronaldo was named the starting forward for Manchester United’s Rasmus Hojlund’s ideal five-a-side lineup. The Dane has chosen a well-rounded lineup without the legendary Portuguese player up front. Hojlund was not allowed to select players from the existing roster when asked to name a Manchester United five-a-side team.

The striker naturally chose his idol, Ronaldo, to start in attack and his fellow countryman, Peter Schmeichel, to start in goal. To complete his lineup, Hojlund selected two midfielders and one illustrious Manchester United defender.

‘I need to put Peter [Schmeichel] in goal. Peter because Peter is Peter, he’s Danish,’ Hojlund said in an interview with The United Stand.

‘Peter won everything here and is a legend but he’s also a legend in Denmark because he won the Euros for us, so he has to be there.

‘I need to put Rio [Ferdinand] in there because he’s very memorable to me. I would love to put [Nemanja] Vidic there but I can only have one defender. Only one. ‘I want to put Ryan Giggs in there, Paul Scholes and Cristiano.

‘You still get a balanced midfield and then you can just leave him [Ronaldo] up front’

It has to be Cristiano. Rooney and Tevez as well, but Cristiano was probably the guy.

‘I remember supporting him and following him at United, then watching him at the period when he was at Real Madrid and Juventus, then back again as well.

The Man United fan from his childhood revealed that Ronaldo was his childhood idol.

He brought up the renowned attacking tandem of Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney, and Carlos Tevez, who between 2007 and 2009 enabled the team to win the Champions League and the Premier League in consecutive years.

Hojlund went on to say that even after Ronaldo left Manchester United to play for Real Madrid and Juventus, he followed him back to Old Trafford during his short second stint. Hojlund has been playing well for Man United in the Premier League, helping the team to three victories and a draw by netting in four straight games.
