Luke Shaw also sustained new injury and will be out for a few months
Rasmus Hojlund’s injury to Manchester United is expected to be catastrophic as he could be out for up to three weeks due to a muscular issue.
United provided the following update on the status of their star striker’s fitness on Friday afternoon:
“Rasmus Hojlund will miss Manchester United’s Premier League game against Fulham on Saturday due to a muscle injury. It is expected to keep him out for two to three weeks.”
In addition to missing this weekend’s match against the Cottagers, Hojlund would also be out from games against Nottingham Forest, Everton, Sheffield United, and, most importantly, Manchester City if it takes him three weeks to heal from the injury.
Due to his play, United has won four straight league games for the very first time this year, tying Tottenham for fifth position and falling five points short of Aston Villa for fourth.
Due to Hojlund’s injury and Anthony Martial’s extended absence, Marcus Rashford is United manager Erik ten Hag’s lone forward option.

Since the start of the season, Hojlund has been United’s best performer and has been the youngest player in Premier League history who has scored in six straight games.
The only other accredited forward for United, Anthony Martial, is out due to groyne surgery.
With eight goals this season in all tournaments, Scott McTominay is the second-highest goalscorer for the team, trailing only Hojlund.
United moved up to sixth place in the rankings, five points behind fourth-place Aston Villa, thanks to a double from Hojlund against Luton, which gave United their fourth straight league victory. Following his five-year contract acquisition from Serie A team Atalanta, Hojlund has made 30 appearances for United in all competitions and scored 13 goals.
