Tottenham Hotspur compete with top European clubs for Spanish forward Nico Williams
Nico Williams is on the transfer radar of top European clubs
Tottenham appears to have added another contender to its shortlist of potential Son Heung-min substitutes, though Arsenal and Liverpool will probably put up a fight. Although the club captain is still enjoying himself immensely when he scores goals in north London, Spurs might consider trying to replace the 31-year-old throughout the upcoming transfer windows.
Ange Postecoglou strengthened Tottenham’s offensive lineup ahead of the 2023–2024 campaign by bringing in Manor Solomon and Brennan Johnson. Then, in January, Timo Werner came on loan from RB Leipzig, completing the group of forwards that already comprised Son, Richarlison, and Dejan Kulusevski.
With 12 goals in 22 games this season, the South Korea international has been in incredible form; nonetheless, Spurs would be well to start considering life after their club legend. Spurs have been guilty in recent memory of failing to replace its key players while they were still with the team, which ultimately caused the squad to suffer greatly from their exit.
Radu Dragusin’s arrival from Genoa last month increased Tottenham’s squad depth, and Postecoglou will probably be looking to add more big-name players this summer. Journalist Dean Jones reports that Spurs have entered the competition to sign Athletic Club standout Nico Williams in light of this.

Given his agreement’s generous release section, Premier League rivals Arsenal and Liverpool have also been keeping an eye on the Spain international. The 21-year-old’s contract expires in 2027, but there will undoubtedly be suitors interested in taking advantage of the €50 million (£43 million) release option that may be exercised this summer.
With 24 games across all competitions this campaign, Nico Williams has tallied five goals and ten assists, helping his team, who are presently sixth in LaLiga, push for a spot in Europe.
After his transfer to Brentford fell through, Antonio Nusa of Club Brugge has also been mentioned as a potential attacking addition for Spurs. The 18-year-old’s transfer to Spurs in January and his loan stay in Belgium had been discussed tentatively.
