Mikel Arteta is on the radar of the Spanish club
At Barcelona, selecting a new coach has almost become a matter of state. The sports director, Deco, is still searching the market for a manager who can satisfy the needs of the team.
Mikel Arteta is one of the coaches who resonates with President Joan Laporta and the Portuguese, per Alex Pintanel of Relevo. Barcelona are monitoring the manager of Arsenal at the moment. At Camp Nou, Arteta’s outstanding play with his current squad hasn’t been ignored.
Arteta is the kind of player the team is hoping to replace Xavi Hernández in the upcoming campaign. As Relevo has uncovered, the San Sebastián coach claimed a few weeks ago that claims he was linked to Barcelona were “fake news.” However, Barcelona has reached out to the coach’s closest associates and even made contact with the manager of Arsenal directly.
Xavi declared in January that he would be leaving the Catalan team at the conclusion of the current season. Ever since, Deco, the sporting director of Barcelona, has been busily preparing behind the scenes in order to select a new head coach for the team in time for the 2024–2025 campaign.

Relevo claims that Barca is considering a move for Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, as a potential Xavi substitute. Deco is said to have communicated with the Basque coach.
Although the manager of the Gunners is under contract with the Premier League’s biggest clubs until 2025, both the director of sports and club president Joan Laporta are fans of the boss.
Journalist Florian Plettenberg said this past week that the Catalan powerhouse have had “concrete talks” regarding their new boss with Germany manager Hansi Flick and previous treble-winning Bayern Munich. The Catalan giants have also been connected to Sporting coach Ruben Amorim.
