Colwill, Ben Chilwell and Gallagher have suffered injuries
A triple injury setback has befallen Chelsea before their Premier League match against Newcastle on Monday. The Blues have struggled with injuries all season, and on Thursday the team announced that Ben Chilwell has been referred to a consultant for a knee issue that he sustained following the draw at Brentford.
A toe injury additionally required Levi Colwill to “begin a rehabilitation programme,” and Conor Gallagher skipped practice this week because of illness. He continued, “It’s very frustrating and disappointing, because the situation has never allowed us [to] work with the full squad.” in reference to the club’s injury problems.
“The same situation as last week,” Pochettino said on whether any of Chelsea’s absent stars could return to face Newcastle.
“You all know now that we’ve added Levi Colwill and Chilwell to the list of injured players.
“Since Saturday, Gallagher has not been training because he’s got a virus. Let’s see if it’s possible for [Gallagher] to be available. We need to assess him.”
“Yes, we are suffering this kind of negativity in terms of injuries, but we cannot stop believing and stop working. We need to give confidence to the players who will play on Monday.”

Due to a hamstring injury he sustained earlier in the season, Chilwell’s availability for Chelsea’s final stretch and Euro 2024 may be in jeopardy if he has another layoff.
Christopher Nkunku, Romeo Lavia, and Reece James are among the first team players who are still not present.
Pochettino said that young players can be called up to cover injuries in the Chelsea squad for the upcoming matches.
“We need to wait until he sees the specialist,” Pochettino insisted. “I hope it’s not a big issue but I prefer to be cautious and wait. Yesterday there were nine young kids from the academy [in training],” said the manager.
