Everton FC will be locking horns with Newcastle United for their fourth-round EFL Cup 2026-27 contest. This is going to be a promising clash between the two clubs, taking place at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
David Moyes’ men are now winless in their last three matches and have faced back-to-back defeats in their last two games. Chelsea outplayed them in a 0-2 loss. They then suffered a defeat at the hands of Arsenal (0-2). Everton have not scored a goal in their last two matches. They will be eager to jump back to winning ways now.
The Toffees are going to be at home for their upcoming cup match. This will be one of the advantages for them, hopefully aiding enough to secure a win.
On the other hand, the Matthias Jaissle-led side have been very inconsistent with their recent performances. After two consecutive losses, they are back to winning ways with an easy 2-0 victory against Crystal Palace in their recent Premier League outing. Newcastle United will be keen to extend their winning run.
Being away from home is going to be one of the challenges for them. The Magpies will have to control the Carabao Cup game against the Toffees from the very beginning.
Players to Watch
Harrison Armstrong (Everton)
Harrison Armstrong is coming off a strong performance against Arsenal. Even though Everton suffered a loss, Armstrong had the most defensive contributions (16). He will be looking to come up with another top performance. The 19-year-old is clearly an important asset for the Toffees.
Harvey Barnes (Newcastle)
The English winger will have a crucial role to play in the attacking front for Newcastle United. He was one of the goal scorers for the Magpies in their recent win against Crystal Palace. Harvey Barnes will be once again deployed on the left flank and is going to keep the opponent’s defence on edge.
