While the former looked to be more dominant, the Greens took the lead initially.
Vishnu Gosavi’s injury-time goal saved Sesa FA as they managed to hold Salgaocar FC to a 1-1 draw in the Goa Pro League at the Duler Stadium on Thursday. After a goalless first half, Saeesh Halarnkar scored in the 66th minute to help Salgaocar take the lead.
Sesa FA started the game brightly and dominated in the first half. They came close to scoring in the 11th minute when Rizbon Fernandes found himself in a one-on-one situation with Salgaocar keeper Jason D’Melo. However, a poor touch made it easy for D'Melo to save the ball. Five minutes later, Rizbon had another similar opportunity but D'Melo charged to keep the scoreline unchanged.

At the other end, Salgaocar had only one opportunity to surge ahead in the first half. Shubham Shirwaikar was brought down by Sesa’s Shridharnath Gawas just outside the box to give away a free-kick. However, Selwyn Miranda's curled effort was palmed away by the academy side's shot-stopper Roanal Gaunkar in the 28th minute.
Sesa FA received two more opportunities to take the lead against Salgaocar FC before the half time. Vishnu Gosavi made a swift run on the right flank and sent a low cross to Aston Rodrigues. Salgaocar midfielder Selwyn cleared the danger before the Aston could wreak any damage.
In another opportunity, Sesa’s Sandeep sent a long throw-in to Rizbon in the box. The forward turned around to put himself in a good position to score, but failed to convert from close range.

Sesa continued to dominate even after the first half. However, it was the Green Brigade who surprised them in the 66th minute when Saeesh scored off substitute Umang Gaikwad's cross. Saeesh's shot deflected off Sesa defender Myron Pereira and beat Sesa's goalkeeper easily.
The Academy side refused to give up after trailing as they launched an all-out attack. They came close to scoring on a couple of occasions and finally managed to level the terms in the added minutes. Substitute Mahammed Faheez found Vishnu in the box with a cross, who in turn headed in from close-range to snatch a point from Salgaocar.
