Panjim, who had lost their opening match against Sporting Clube de Goa made several changes to their side. After attacking play from the word go, Sesa should have taken the lead in the 10th minute. Vishnu Gosawi made a perfect through pass to Fazil in the box, who squared it for Omkar Shetgaonkar. But, the forward, instead of banging it into the net, chose to tap it in. However, Panjim keeper Preston Rego fully stretched to his right to collect the ball.
They had another opportunity at the half hour mark. This time Vishnu once again produced a brilliant through pass to Aston Rodrigues. However, the young lad shot straight into the hands of Panjim keeper Preston.
The team from the capital also had a chance to stun their dominant rivals in the dying minutes of the first half. Akash and Irfan Yadwad were involved in a goalmouth melee. But, Sesa keeper Roalan Gauncar was quick to get on the ball to keep the scores level.

Sesa continued to dominate in the second half and came close to scoring on many occasions. However, Shridharnath first shot over, while skipper Domnic Soares and Aksh Kudnekar shot wide from close range.
The Academy Boys had the best opportunity of the match in added-time, when skipper Domnic sent a beautiful pass to substitute Kunal Salgaonkar, who just had to beat rival keeper Preston. However, Panjim defender Dhiraj Chouhan made a timely clearance.
