Vasco's goalkeeper Luis Barreto had a great game as he made many crucial saves.

Vasco SC and FC Goa played out a goalless draw in the Goa Football Association (GFA) Selvel Goa Pro League at Duler Stadium, Mapusa, on Saturday.

In the 22nd minute, Goa's Jovial Dias struck a long range shot which did trouble Vasco goalkeeper Luis Barreto. However, the experienced custodian managed to and collect the ball after spilling it initially. Later, Vasco's experienced duo Francisco Fernandes and Cavin Lobo combined well in the midfield to create problems for the FC Goa youngsters, who were forced to defend throughout the first half.

At the half hour mark, Brison Deuben forced Luis Barreto into another great save when his curling free kick nearly found the bottom right corner.

In the 34th minute, FC Goa got the best chance of the match when Ivan Costa intercepted a loose ball in his own goal area and launched a quick counter-attack. The youngster then unselfishly squared the ball to Lal HP, who shot straight at the Barreto. Just two minutes later, Barreto pulled off another good save to deny Jovial Dias from outside the box.

Vasco SC had a chance to score just before the first-half whistle, from a set-piece. Cavin Lobo's free-kick found Amit Das inside the box but the latter couldn't finish well.

In the early minutes of the second half, Wasim made a fine move from a short corner and squared the ball into the edge of the Vasco box, where Mevan Dias was lurking. Although he won the ball, Dias then fired it wide - thereby nullifying a brilliant move. In the 75th minute, Ivan Costa tried his luck with a dipping shot from outside the box, but he also failed to find the target.

Luis Barreto was kept busy in the final quarter as FC Goa kept trying to find the back of the net from distance. Both Delton Colaco and Britto came close to scoring the winner for the Gaurs, but the Vasco shot-stopper came out on top on both occasions.
