Lalawmpuia scored twice in last quarter to help the Junior Gaurs secure all three points.
FC Goa scored in each half, as they secured an easy 3-0 win over Vasco Sports Club in the Goa Professional League match played at Duler Stadium on Sunday. Sweden Fernandes opened the tally in the last few minutes of the first half, while Lalawmpuia scored twice in the last quarter of the match to help the Junior Gaurs seal all three points. Vasco tactician Micky Fernandes chose to go with the same XI which earned him full points from the last match against Sesa FA. Whereas, defender Brian Faria was the lone change for the Junior Gaurs, who were held to a 1-1 draw by Dempo SC. [KH_ADWORDS type="4" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS] The match started with midfield play, where both the sides tried to keep the ball, but could not create any potent opportunity in the first 35 minutes. However, with just few minutes left to the half-time whistle, FC Goa midfielder Sweden Fernandes took advantage of the misplaced pass from Vasco defender Amit Das and shot at goal from the edge of the box. The deflected off another defender and completely beat Vasco custodian Sanju Thapa to settle in the net making 1-0 for the Junior Gaurs. The misery continued for the Port Towners in the second half, as their defender Mainoo Dadanuvoor, who was booked in the first half was sent off following his second booking for tackling Sweden. After receiving a through pass from substitute Lalawmpuia in the box he smartly chipped the ball into the net, but assistant referee Purshotam Mapari raised the flag for offside. The Port Towners suffered another blow in the 78th minute when Goa doubled their lead. Serineo Fernandes made a short pass to Lalawmpuia, who shot just inside the box to make it 2-0 for his side. Energized by a goal, Lalawmpuia scored another in the 85th minute. Skipper Leander D'Cunha made a cross to Sweden, who selflessly headed to the unmarked forward in the box who blasted it into the goal to make it 3-0.
