Borussia Dortmund will travel to the Volksparkstadion to take on fifth-tier HEBC Hamburg for a first-round DFB-Pokal 2026-27 fixture on Tuesday night. Having made a winning start to their Bundesliga campaign, the visitors will likely make light work of their lower-ranked opponents tonight.
Goals from Serhou Guirassy and Giannis Konstantelias secured a 2-0 win over Hamburger SV, although Borussia Dortmund had to play the final 13 minutes with 10 men following Samuele Inácio’s sending-off.
Having taken part in the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup, where they lost to Bayern Munich, Die Borussen will now begin their DFB-Pokal campaign tonight. They will be up against HEBC Hamburg, who currently play in the Oberliga Hamburg, the fifth tier of German football.
This is the first time that HEBC are playing in the DFB-Pokal since 1934-35. They secured their place in the tournament by winning the Hamburg Cup, and they will host tonight’s “home” game at Hamburger SV’s ground.
