Rajasthan United sign Fabiano Alves, completes foreign signing quota
The 27-year-old has prior experience of playing in Brazil, Switzerland, Bulgaria and Slovakia in his career.
I-League debutants Rajasthan United have secured the services of Fabiano Alves, Khel Now can confirm. The club have now completed their overseas quota of signings for the upcoming 2021-22 edition of the league.
"Fabiano Alves is joining Rajasthan United. The deal is done and the official announcement is imminent. Prior to this, the club three attacking foreigners in Diego Bielkiewicz, Marcelinho Leite Pereira and Komron Tursunov. For their final foreign signing, the club were looking for someone who can slot in both midfield and defence, according to the team's needs. Fabiano can do that and hence, he would be a good fit," sources close to the developments informed Khel Now.

About the player
Hailing from Brazil, Fabiano Alves began his football career through the youth teams of Palmeiras and Corinthians, two of the most popular clubs in the country. At Corinthians, he rose through the ranks to sign with their reserves team. From there, he moved on loan to as many as six different clubs in his home country across four seasons. In 2018, the player shifted base to Europe for the first time, joining Septemvri Sofia - a club that then competed in the the top tier of Bulgarian football.
Stints at Swiss Super League outfit FC St. Gallen, Brazilian side Aimore RS and Slovak club FC Nitra followed for Fabiano, who will now come to India to start a new chapter in his career.
He has played in the Serie B (second tier of Brazilian football), the top division leagues of Bulgaria and Switzerland and also a play-off match in the Europa League. A defensive midfielder by trade, the 27-year-old can also play as a centre-back.

Rajasthan United's pre-season preparations
Led by their new head coach Francesc Bonet, Rajasthan United are keen to make an impact in I-League 2021-22. They earned a spot in the league this season after remaining undefeated throughout the I-League Qualifiers. Afterwards, they also completed the signings of several star players.
As already mentioned, Bielkiewicz and former ISL Golden Boot and Golden Ball winner Marcelinho have already joined the outfit, along with ex-Mohun Bagan star Komron Tursunov. Aman Chetri, Pritam Singh, Abhishek Ambekar, Laishram Premjit Singh and Pintu Mahata are some of their new domestic acquisitions.
